About iCatalog
iCatalog is an application that will help you keep track of your digital pictures and music. If you are like many people, you have hundreds or thousands of digital pictures and music file on your computer. Over time, some of the files have been duplicated, changed, copied to new locations, and unfortunately, lost (even if you try to keep good backups). iCatalog helps by searching your computer for digital pictures and music and performing a digital fingerprint on the file. Using this digital fingerprint (the technical term is message digest), iCatalog can locate duplicate files, regardless of whether the file name is the same or different. iCatalog can also help to ensure that you have your digital pictures and music backed up sufficiently by allowing you to verify that ALL the files on your computer are actually on your various backup CD's, External Drives, etc.
